On June 18th, we had the opportunity to travel to the Little Rock area for a beautiful engagement party at a historic home located in West Little Rock.
The Setup
With the amazing landscape outside of the home, most of the party was held outdoors. A dinner area was set up on the garden patio with strung lights and white floral center-pieces. As for Toasts in Tow, we brought the mobile bar and set up just off of the circle drive.
The Menu
Prior to this event, we had a cocktail tasting with Tess and Tiff. We identified several flavors they wanted to use, and after mixing up a few options, we came up with three perfect cocktails. Both wanted to include a custom cocktail in honor of their mom (“The Mom-Tails”)- one called The Barb and one called The Jill. For Barb’s cocktail, it was important that we included whiskey but it needed to be sweet. Using a blackberry bourbon smash as our inspiration, and The Barb was born – a bourbon cocktail with muddled blackberries, fresh lemon juice, our handcrafted honey simple, and topped with lemon lime soda. For Jill’s cocktail, watermelon was a must. We started with watermelon juice, vodka, and fresh lemon juice. To keep the cocktail from being too sweet, we topped it with just enough ginger ale to neutralize the lemon juice and add a little bubbly – not too much! The highlight of the Jill was the garnish. We used hand cut watermelon wheels rolled in Tajin to give the cocktail a little bit of spice. Tess and Tiff also chose a cocktail of their own- a Blueberry Moscow Mule. This was a classic Moscow mule with blueberries muddled and added. It was absolutely perfect, and fresh for a summer evening. Beer and wine were also available, although the cocktails were the preferred drinks of the evening.
From the cocktail tasting to the very end of the event, we knew that this party was going to be a blast. The guests were amazing, and everyone was there to celebrate Tess and Tiff and have a good time. Congrats Tess and Tiff, and thank you so much for including us in your special day!
