Our mobile bar started as just an idea that we talked about for over a year. Finally we decided to take the first step in making our dream a reality- we purchased the trailer. After bringing the champagne-colored enclosed trailer home, we soon began renovations. With the help of Marty Rhodes, we were able to turn our empty shell into a fully functioning bar for our mobile bartending service. The biggest project we faced with the trailer was the installation of the main serving window. After cutting through the metal to begin the window install, extra support had to be added on the inside under the window.
On the exterior, we knew we wanted to include a panel that had been wood-burned. After deciding on the type of wood and stain, we began the burning process. We fell so in-love with the look, we ended up adding another wood-burned panel on the inside of the back doors. We also added a wood-burned panel where our future spigots would be placed.
On the interior, lights, receptacles, and a sink were all must-haves. For a long time prior to starting our renovations, we went back and forth on what type of power source we would use. After much research and consulting with a few experts, we were able to find a way to have the lights and receptacles we wanted while still having the ability to plug our trailer into a standard electrical outlet. For the sink, we ended up going with a RV Grade drain that we installed into a stainless steel sink bowl. To avoid adding more to our electrical circuit, we purchased a rechargeable faucet online that pulls water out of a water source (one of our water cans). We have another “grey water” can under the sink for drainage. After wrapping up renovations on the inside, we dropped our trailer off for a fresh coat of paint. In the end, we loved the color choice (an off white color) and can not wait to see how well it fits with all of our future bookings and events.
